Welcome Message from the Chair

MtFuji

We are delighted to invite you to the 2026 Joint Conference of the Asia-Pacific Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics Association (APHIA) and 19th International Histocompatibility Workshop, which will take place from May 25-28, 2026, in Numazu, Japan, at Plaza Verde. This highly anticipated event follows the 19th International Histocompatibility Workshop and will bring together experts, researchers, and professionals from around the world in the fields of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics.

The theme of this year’s conference, “Diversity, Equity, and Innovation,” reflects our commitment to advancing the understanding of HLA diversity, ensuring equitable access to high-quality care for all patients, and driving cutting-edge research and innovation in transplantation, immunogenetics, and personalized medicine. The scientific program will feature internationally renowned speakers alongside esteemed experts from the Asia-Pacific region. Sessions will cover the latest developments in HLA and immunogenetics, solid organ and bone marrow transplantation diagnostics and therapeutics, and the role of HLA diversity in infection and immunity.

In addition to a stimulating scientific program, this meeting will provide invaluable opportunities for networking, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing. Participants will have the chance to engage in meaningful discussions, exchange insights, and be part of a dynamic community shaping the future of transplantation and immunogenetics.

We look forward to welcoming you to Numazu in 2026 for what promises to be an inspiring and enriching experience. Please mark your calendars and join us for this exciting event.

See you in Japan in 2026!

Kindest regards
Dianne De Santis
